The Tolbooth in Tain, Ross-shire is the town's most prominent building. There is so much history with this building that we couldn't possibly list it all here.
Housing the town clock, the bell is still rung at 8pm every single night to keep up the 'town curfew' tradition. Although there are very few locals that adhear to the curfew these days.
The tolbooth is another of Tain's Maitland buildings. The famous architect was responsible for the majority of local buildings of interest in the area.
Dave "Charlie" Chaplin has captured the tolbooth perfectly in his drawing. A perfect print of this drawing is available in A4 size.
